Tesla Owners May Wake Up To Self-Driving Cars After Update
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — If you see a Tesla owner on the road on Thursday driving with no hands on the wheel, don't be alarmed.
The electric car manufacturer is updating the cars with a new auto-pilot mode.
Tesla is unveiling an overnight wireless software upgrade for its cars. Wake up and watch out on the drive to work. No hands, no problem.
The new self-driving mode uses radar and ultrasonic sensors and cameras already installed inside the cars--to help steer, accelerate, and brake.
Gov. Jerry Brown signed a law allowing the creation of the cars.
