Few Leads In Shooting That Left West Sacramento Girl In Critical Condition
WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Police still have no clue who shot at a West Sacramento home, leaving a 13-year-old girl in critical condition.
A seventh grade school picture shows Alize Valadez' bright eyes and pleasant smile. The teen is now fighting to stay alive from a gunshot to her head.
"I don't know if somebody's bored or funny or what they thought they were. But guess what, it's not funny," said Monica Martinez, Alize's aunt.
Alize's aunt says the teen goes to school down the street. But on the weekends, if she's not riding her scooter outside, Alize likes to stay inside on the couch, watching TV.
"She's a homebody, all the time," Martinez said.
That's what Alize was doing Saturday night when bullets started flying outside the home. They pierced through the wall and one hit Alize in the head.
Alize's grandmother was in bed in the next room.
"She heard the noise, popped up out of her bed, came out and my niece is lying there," Martinez said.

On the wall are the letters A, B, C, D and E – five bullet holes. The letter B is where the girl was struck, police say.
"It was random to us," Alize's sister said, saying that they don't know why they were targeted.
The stop sign is also riddled with bullets. But with no surveillance cameras around, and no witnesses coming forward, investigators say they have no solid leads.
"Somebody knows something out there," Martinez said. "You need to speak up. Somebody knows somebody who did it."
