SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Police arrested two protesters during a vote to increase the city's minimum wage.

The Sacramento City Council voted 6-3 on Tuesday to increase the city's minimum wage to $12.50 by 2020 after a last-minute compromise.

The new plan removed all previous exemptions, includes a $2 an hour health care contribution credit, and a one-year phase-in for small businesses.

The protesters were expected to be released overnight.
