Police: Human Skeletal Remains Found At Folsom Lake
EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) - Authorities are investigating after skeletal remains were found at Folsom Lake.
The remains were found Thursday night. According to California State Parks Police, the area where the bones were found is the historical town of Red Banks - an area that was once underwater.
Veronica Pierson says her son found the remains.
"He and his friends were out way too far than they should have been and he texted me and sent me a picture," Pierson said.
Police say the bones are believed to be human.
A coroner from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office has been called to the scene to determine if the bones are new or old.
Relatives of people who lost family members decades ago are showing up at Folsom Lake on Friday morning wondering if the remains found could be their loved one.
