Suspect In Officer-Involved Shooting Arrested; 2 Others In Custody

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Authorities have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with an officer-involved shooting in Sacramento County.

The incident happened Thursday morning near Madison Avenue and College Oak Drive.

A CHP officer was reportedly trying to stop a suspect car at the La Quinta Inn when the driver backed up and struck an officer's vehicle, a CHP spokesperson says. An officer then opened fire at the suspect's car, which took off.

The suspect ditched the car a little while later and took off running. A perimeter was set up in the area, and the suspect was eventually caught.

Two other people described as persons of interest were also taken into custody.

A Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesperson originally reported the suspect shot at the officer.
