3 Held In Napa-Area Wine-Theft Spree

NAPA, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a San Jose threesome were arrested for stealing more than $4,000 worth of wine from grocery stores before they were arrested.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports Wednesday that the three men were arrested Monday night on suspicion of burglary, grand theft, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of cocaine and conspiracy.

Police recovered more than 60 bottles of stolen wine along with cocaine and individually packed baggies of methamphetamine. The wine was stolen from stores in Napa and other counties. All three were booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.

It was not immediately known if authorities are looking at the men as suspects in the theft $300,000 worth of wine stolen last Christmas Day from the famed French Laundry restaurant. That wine was recovered. No arrests have ever been made.
