Kings Mystified By Wizards, 113-99

The Sacramento Kings had gone more than a year since winning consecutive games on the road. After winning four of five, and facing a Wizards team that dressed just nine players due to injuries, it looked like the stars were aligned for the Kings.

Still, they'll have to wait until next time.

Marcin Gortat had season-high 27 points to go with 16 rebounds, John Wall had a career-high 19 assists, and Garrett Temple delivered 23 points to lead the Wizards to a 113-99 victory.

Washington only played seven of their nine healthy players, and six of those scored in double figures. Garrett Temple, who did a couple of stints in Sacramento on 10-day contracts, hit five 3-pointers.

For all the distance of the final score, the Kings held the lead in the first quarter before falling behind at halftime. After Sacramento managed to tie the score at 84 going into the fourth quarter, the Wizards would start the final frame on an 8-0 run en route to a 29-15 advantage to close the contest.

Washington (12-14) shot .506 from the field, going 14-for-24 (.583) from 3-point range.

DeMarcus Cousins had 22 points and 8 rebounds for the Kings (11-17), who wrap up their road trip in Indiana on Wednesday.
