Man Killed In Crash Near I-80 On-Ramp In North Highlands
NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – A man was killed after losing control of his car near a freeway on-ramp.
The scene was on Watt Avenue near the Interstate 80 on-ramp. California Highway Patrol says that, just before 2 a.m., a man in a car speeding south on Watt somehow lost control of his car.
CHP says the driver was likely killed instantly when his car wrapped around a pole marking the freeway entrance.
Witnesses told CHP that the driver was going really fast down the roadway.
Investigators are still looking into whether or not the driver was intoxicated at the time.
The identity of the driver has not been released.
