Elk Grove California Family Fitness Members Forced To Use Portable Toilets

ELK GROVE (CBS13) — Members of a California Family Fitness have been forced to use portable toilets and sinks instead of bathrooms after what management is calling mechanical problems.

The Elk Grove location is now offering an outdoor family experience, as the portable toilets have temporarily replaced bathrooms. The drinking fountains are off limits.

An anonymous gym member snapped pictures of the situation before cutting her workout short.

Management says the issue comes from mechanical problems impacting the septic system, forcing the club to shut down water for repairs on Friday. The repairs aren't expected to be finished until next Friday.

Gabby Powers is concerned about the sanitation issues not having water could create.

"it's not very clean," she said. "Inside, they didn't clean inside."

The company's president responded with a statement reading in part, "CFF is working diligently to ensure that all temporary accommodations for members are in the best working order, safe and clean."

Affected members can used the gym just down the street, or any of the other locations in the area regardless of membership type.
