Expect Major Delays On I-80 This Weekend Due To Across The Top Project

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Expect major delays this weekend on Interstate 80 as the Across the Top Project continues.

People traveling on westbound Interstate 80 in North Sacramento will see various ramp closures and lane restrictions from 9 p.m. Saturday through noon Sunday.

A single lane will be open from Longview to Reed Avenue with the Interstate 5 connector to I-80 closed as well.

Traffic will be detoured to Reed Avenue and back to eastbound I-80 to access the overpasses.

"We're advising [to] allow for extra travel time to get access that those ramps," said Caltrans spokesperson Dennis Keaton.

The construction this weekend is needed to complete the express lanes on the westbound side of traffic.
