Final Fixes For Rough Road In Placer County Could Be Coming Soon
AUBURN (CBS13) — It's been a rough road lately for bike riders along a popular stretch in Placer County, leaving viewers to wonder what is taking so long to fix the road.
With the wind at his back and the sun shining bright, it couldn't be a better day to ride for CBS13 viewer Stan Watson.
Or maybe it could.
The roughed up road is forcing bikers like Watson to tighten his grip.
"You get up and down these hills and you have a rough surface—it's tough," he said.
It's been tough along Joeger Road in Auburn for quite awhile.
"About a year ago they started tearing up the roads, so a lot of the enthusiasts like me, we've had to adjust a lot of the routes we like to take," he said.
Or just roll carefully through the bumps on the road.
The work comes from the Placer County Wastewater Treatment Plant. In an effort to avoid putting treated wastewater in nearby creeks, it struck a deal with the City of Lincoln a couple of years ago to put in a pipeline system along Joeger Road connecting Lincoln's sewage.
The bulk of the project is done, but sewer officials say attachment devices were found to be defective and are being replaced. By the end of May, things should be back on track, and the road repaving should take place shortly after that.
