Possible Hate Crime Investigated At Davis Amtrak Station
DAVIS (CBS13) – An attack in Davis has led to a hate crime investigation.
The incident happened late Tuesday morning. Davis Police say a man from Ethiopia was at the Davis Amtrak station when a white man approached him and started pushing him and kicking him.
The man says the suspect called him racial slurs, including the n- word.
Investigators believe the suspect is a white man in his mid-40s, with short brown hair and a mustache. They believe this beating was unprovoked, as the victim was sitting on the bench minding his own business when the incident occurred.
Davis Police say the victim has some minor scrapes, but otherwise is doing okay.
