Pastor Still Glowing A Day After Hitting Half-Court Shot At Sacramento Kings Game

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A pastor picked to sink a half-court shot made perhaps the last one in the history of Sleep Train Arena on Tuesday.

Joseph Seasac had no idea when he went to Tuesday night's game that he'd be given a chance to make a half-court shot in one of the Sacramento Kings' last games at Sleep Train Arena.

The senior pastor at the Center of Praise Church in Sacramento said he had a little talk with God.

"I did a little prayer but it's more, 'God thank you for the opportunity and your will will be done,'" he said.

Then it was time to focus.

"I really don't want to embarrass myself here, and not give it enough, so I focused on my form, I thought get in on line, that's the first thing," he said.

Then it went in.

"When I heard the sound of the net it was just a beautiful sound," he said.

Still basking in the moment on Wednesday, he says he watched video of his shot and it all seems surreal.

"I realized I'm over here chest-bumping with the players," he said.

He says he didn't even think about the prize, a brand new car. He was just caught up in the crowd's large cheers.

His wife says she had a feeling he would make it and talked to him right before.

"I told him I've never seen this done before so give me a once in lifetime experience and he did just that," she said.

He still can't seem to let go of the ball and net still draped around his shoulder. Part of a group of pastors at the game for Hoops For Hope, he says he had no idea he would be picked to take the shot. He can still remember the roar of the crowd and is especially happy his wife and son were there to see it happen.

The pastor says he's not sure if he's going to keep the car he won for his family or give it to someone in need. He's waiting to hear from God.
