Judge Denies Bail For Driver Accused Of Killing Auburn Teens

AUBURN (CBS13) – The man accused of running over and killing two teens while allegedly on drugs was denied bail.

Philip Ingram was back in Placer County court on Thursday morning. The families of Jared Gaches and Trevor Keller, the two teens killed in Sunday's crash, were also present.

Both families pleaded the judge to deny bail for Ingram.

The Placer County district attorney filed a 10-page document arguing for no bail for Ingram. Prosecutors say Ingram was under the influence of drugs when he hit the two boys who were walking on the shoulder of Highway 49. Pills were also found with Ingram's after the crash, authorities say.

After the judge decided for no bail for Ingram, the courtroom clapped.

Prosecutors have filed manslaughter charges against Ingram.
