Video Shows Arrest Of Suspect In Interstate 80 CHP Hit-And-Run Crash
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Investigators say a driver struck a California Highway Patrol officer on Interstate 80, then took off before he was found in a stolen construction truck.
Exclusive video obtained by CBS13 shows the still unidentified CHP hit-and-run suspect surrounded by officers being hoisted to his shoeless feet while handcuffed.

Ferris Oliver shot the video while stopped by officers on Interstate 80 in Fairfield in his own vehicle.
"It seemed like a movie scene to me," he said.
The pursuit ended nearly an hour away from where the suspect allegedly struck a North Sacramento CHP motorcycle. Officers used a spike strip to blow out the tires of the truck the suspect allegedly stole from the Across The Top project.
"Once the police officers got in front of him, he stopped and tried to go backwards on the freeway," Oliver said.
For a moment, he said the suspect appeared ready to run.
"After that, he proceeds to try to jump out of the passenger side door. When he jumps out he notices he's cornered. He puts his hands up, "OK, OK."
A closer look at the suspect's getaway truck shows it was badly damaged, scraped along its side. The truck, owned by Bay Cities Paving and Grating, was allegedly stolen from a construction site on Interstate 80 near where the officer was struck.
A blue truck found near where the officer was struck was believed to be the one used to back over the CHP officer. His condition is unknown.
