Family Of Injured CHP Officer Thanks Public For Support

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The family of officer Michael Ericson, the California Highway Patrolman who was injured after being hit on Interstate 80 on Thursday, has released a statement thanking the public for their support.

In the statement, the family said "the amount of support we have received has been overwhelming" and and they "wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone"

Officer Michael Ericson remains in critical, but stable condition at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

"We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone for the outpouring of support in light of this horrible attack. The amount of support we have received has been overwhelming and very much appreciated. Thank you all for your compassion and love that you have expressed for Mike. All of the support makes a time like this easier and we know it will Mike heal faster and make a full recovery. Thank you."
