Body Found In American River Near Guy West Bridge

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Crews have pulled the body of a woman out of the American River near Sacramento State.

The scene is along the American River between the Guy West Bridge and H Street.

Rescue crews from the Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene around 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

Sacramento Fire originally reported the body as being male, but are now saying it is the body of a female.

Crews confirmed the person had drowned. Authorities are unsure of the person's age.

The coroner's office is now responding to the scene.
