White Supremacist Letters In Downtown Sacramento Worry Residents

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Dozens of families in Sacramento woke up to find fliers calling for a renewed commitment to white supremacy and violence littering their windshields on Tuesday.

Fouad Ziaa is shocked by the language found in the two-page letter calling for the torture and murder of all Muslim and Hispanic people and urging people to have secured body dump sites and leave no survivors.

He believes they were left overnight on windshields of neighbors near 13th and P streets, just blocks from the state Capitol.

"The ones with the Nazi things caught my attention," he said.

When he first saw the fliers littered on cars, he actually thought they were parking tickets.

"I was like, 'Hang on, this is not a ticket.' And then I pulled one out and I started reading it and I kept on reading and I couldn't believe it," he said.

Sacramento Police investigators say they don't know who is doing it, but they are treating it as hate speech.

Jim Byers has lived in Downtown Sacramento for several years now and says the fliers don't shock him.

"We should expect to see more of that actually," he said. "And I don't know much more we can do about it."
