Investigators Concerned Suspected Child Molester May Have More Victims

EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) — El Dorado County investigators are looking for more victims after a man was booked on child molestation charges.

Robert Lee Edmonds, 23, is accused of luring victims to public places, such as parking lots and closed businesses. Investigators say he didn't kidnap them, but developed friendships to get them in the car with him.

Edmonds has bailed out of jail.

El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies accuse him of molesting girls as young as 13 years old, and that there may be more victims out there.

Sources say Edmonds attended El Dorado High School, but investigators say it's unclear where he works and lived after school or how he got in contact with his alleged victims.

Investigators suspect he developed friendships with girls, either in the community or online. They say he met them in the evenings and took them to secluded locations, such as dark parking lots.

Parents like Karen Rowen worry unidentified victims may be too scared to come forward.

"I think if they have that core value at home, it makes them open enough to tell their parents their friends," she said.

Investigators want anyone who knows the suspect or has information about the case to contact the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department.
