Detectives Look To Identify Fair Oaks 7-Eleven Clerk In Alleged Sex Assault

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) - The Sacramento County Sheriffs Department is looking for the public's help to identify the suspect of an alleged sexual assault inside a Fair Oaks 7-Eleven convenience store.

Rakalla Jordan has been going to this 7-Eleven location on Madison and Kenneth Avenue on her way to work for the last 12 years, but says she's never experienced anything like this.

"He just came up behind me, in the middle of the store, early in the morning, as the clerk," says Jordan. "He grabbed me like this, both his hands, squeezing my buttocks really hard. And that's when I pushed him, like no."

Jordan says at about 4:30 a.m. on May 3, 2016, a 7-Eleven employee followed her as she was getting coffee. She says he gave her a compliment then grabbed her. There were no other customers in the store at the time

"At that moment I'm thinking, 'Oh my God, let me get out of this store, I don't know if he has his friends in the back, if someone is going to come out and jump me,'" says Jordan.

Shaken and confused, Jordan decided to report the incident to police that same day.

According to Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Tony Turnbull, the employee had been working there for 2-3 weeks and hadn't signed any employment paperwork yet.

"Normally in a case like this, it's easy to get the info, but it's been frustrating for our investigators," said Turnbull.

Detectives say the store owner hasn't been very helpful. He said that the employee was hired over the phone with no ID or employee paperwork.

The suspect employee did not show up to work the next day, and has not been back to the store since the incident.

CBS13 has attempted to contact the store owner but has not received a call back. 7-Eleven corporate has also been contacted to inquire about employee hiring practices.
