Shots Fired At Woodland Police While They Investigated Homicide Scene

WOODLAND (CBS13) - The latest on a homicide investigation in Woodland:

2:51 p.m.

Police say four people have been arrested in connection to the stabbing death of a man at the Casa Del Sol Mobile Home Park.

Cynthia Maria Tello, 23, Justin Mathew Gonzalez, 22, Vanessa Ramos, 22, and Alexis Ivan Velasquez, 18, all face murder charges with an added gang enhancement.

Tello and Ramos also face a charge of accessory after the fact.

No details about the person killed by been released by police.

Police have not said if anyone has been arrested for the shooting that happened while officers were investigating the homicide. Officers were shot at by suspects in a car that reportedly yelled "*** the police" before opening fire.

A Woodland Police Department SUV was hit in the shooting, but no officers were hurt.

7:20 a.m.

Police are now saying they were shot at as they were investigating the crime scene at the Casa Del Sol Mobile Home Park.

Woodland police say a vehicle drove by them while they were at the scene and someone inside yelled derogatory remarks at officers. The person then opened fire at police, narrowly missing several officers.

A bullet also hit an unoccupied police vehicle.

The Yolo County Gang Task Force is investigating the original homicide, based on the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police are also invesitgating the shooting as an attempted homicide of law enforcement officers.

Police have not commented on if a suspect is in custody in either incident.

6:50 a.m.

Police are at the scene of a homicide investigation at a mobile home park in Woodland Wednesday morning.

The scene is along the 700 block of East Street at the Casa Del Sol Mobile Home Park.

Woodland police confirm they are investigating a homicide. Officers say they were called out to the scene for a disturbance, left, then were called out to another disturbance. That's when they found that a person had been stabbed.

Police say they are questioning five people, but no one has been arrested.

No details about the person killed have been released.
