Ripon Man Dragged By Vehicle During Attempted Robbery

RIPON (CBS13) — Five suspects were arrested in a robbery attempt gone wrong that led to the victim being dragged down the street by their vehicle on Monday.

Ripon Police say four male juveniles and a male adult were talking with a 19-year-old Ripon man in front of the Ripona Market when one of the suspects assaulted the man and another tried to take his backpack.

Police say the victim was held against the vehicle by the suspects who tried to remove his backpack. At some point, the suspects drove that vehicle, dragging the man down the street.

The victim suffered moderate injuries in the attack.

Police found the suspects minutes later and took them into custody. Their names are being withheld as the investigation continues.
