DUI Suspected In Deadly Watt Avenue Crash

1:50 p.m. UPDATE: The California Highway Patrol says the driver of the Ford Explorer has also died from injuries sustained in the crash.

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man died and three people were injured in a crash on Sunday night.

The California Highway Patrol says a man driving a black Chevrolet truck was reportedly speeding along southbound Watt Avenue when he crossed the center median and crashed into a white Ford Explorer.

An adult and two minors in the Ford Explorer were taken to a local hospital for their injuries.

The Chevrolet driver died in the crash.

Investigators believe speed, possible intoxication and the condition of the truck’s tires may all be factors in the crash.

There are so many aggressive and irresponsible drivers in Sacramento now. I lived here almost all my life and it’s really getting out of hand.
Watt avenue has basicly become a freeway. The posted speed is about 45m/h but often people drive 60 or even faster; I’ve never seen a traffic ticket being given on Watt Avenue nor do I see a CHP presence. What I have seen is some very nasty accidents and decapitation.
If nothing is done it will get worse.

This is an incomplete story. Where on Watt Ave. did the crash occur?
What time did the crash occur?
