Report: Rudy Gay Will Opt Out & Likely Not Return To Kings

Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical is reporting that Rudy Gay has informed the Sacramento Kings that he has chose to become an "unrestricted free agent and considers himself unlikely to negotiate a new deal to return to the franchise."

According to a source, Gay's decision to opt out of his 2016-17 contract is design to "increase pressure on the organization to trade Gay sooner rather than later."

The Kings have tried to trade Gay during the off season though no deal has currently been reach.

The forward has a $14.3 million player option for the 2017-18 season and can make $13.3 million this upcoming season.
