Skittles Has Strong Response To Donald Trump Jr. Poison Candy Refugee Post

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Skittles had a strong response to a Twitter post from Donald Trump Jr. equating refugees to poison candy.

The presidential candidate's son posted an image of a bowl full of Skittles with the text, "If I had a bowl of skittles and I told you just three would kill you. Would you take a handful? That's our Syrian refugee problem."

The image bears the Trump/Pence logo with the campaign's slogan.

When asked by a writer from The Hollywood Reporter for comment, a company spokeswoman issued the following response

"Skittles are candy. Refugees are people. We don't fee it's an appropriate analogy. We will respectfully refrain from further commentary as anything we say could be misinterpreted as marketing."

Previously, the company has taken to Twitter to share its support of gay marriage on the day the Supreme Court's ruling in Obergefell v Hodges.
