SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — With the election just over a month away and the registration deadline looming in weeks, California has set a record for the most registered voters in the state.

California Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced 18,251,826 people have registered to vote in California as of Sept. 9. That’s 73.45 percent of the people eligible to vote in California.

At 18.2 million people, the number of registered voters is larger than the populations of every state, except for Texas, Florida and New York.

The voter registration deadline is Oct. 24. You can register online through the secretary of state’s office.

I wonder how many registered voters are non-US citizens and illegal aliens; feds should check on this but they will not !
