More 'Across The Top' Work This Weekend, Avoid I-80

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Caltrans is warning of heavy delays along Interstate 80 this weekend as another round of Across The Top closures kick in.

Beginning Friday night, only one westbound express lane will be open through the entire construction area, from Longview to West El Camino.

All westbound on and off-ramps, and the connector ramps to northbound and southbound Interstate 5, will be closed. Motorists traveling on I-5 will not be able to connect to westbound I-80.

Crews are working to stripe the westbound lanes of the freeway.

Drivers can expect delays of up to one hour, Caltrans warns.

The work is expected to continue through Sunday around noon.
