Train Hits CHP Patrol Car In Rio Linda, Officer OK

RIO LINDA (CBS13) - A California Highway Patrol officer is OK after a crash involving a train Friday morning.

The scene is on Elkhorn Boulevard, between East Levee Road and Marysville Boulevard.

A witness said the CHP vehicle was trapped on the tracks while responding to an accident. The officer was able to get out before the train hit.

The train was stopped for a time, making officers redirect traffic in the area.

The roadway was reopened by late Friday afternoon.
