Ronald McDonald House Charities 7th Annual Red Shoe CrawlOn Sunday, June 26th, Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern California celebrated the region’s culinary delights with the 7th Annual Red Shoe Crawl. Guests got in the spirit by wearing red shoes in honor of Ronald McDonald’s trademark footwear. They spent the afternoon visiting up to 27 featured restaurants and wineries in downtown and midtown Sacramento. At each restaurant, attendees were able to sample featured small plates and festive libations reflective of that restaurant’s specialty. After a full day of noshing, guests’ final stop was the After Party at Mulvaney’s B&L. All proceeds raised go to benefit the children and families of the Sacramento Ronald McDonald House and Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake.

Sacramento Hosts Public Art Project in Response to Orlando Attack, Saturday, June 18The Sacramento LGBT Community Center, Latino Center of Art and Culture, Team Darrell Steinberg, The California Endowment , Councilmember Steve Hansen, Congressman Ami Bera, Tony “The Tiger” Lopez, community leaders and members of the general public lead a public art project as a symbol of solidarity with the LGBTQ community on June 18th at the LGBT Community Center parking lot. The art project allowed the community to repurpose their campaign yard signs from the recent California primary election by painting over them with the message "Pride over Prejudice." Newly designed signs created in response to the attack in Orlando will also be available for the public, including a "Pride over Prejudice" rainbow sign copy The intended outcome of this event was to turn all regional businesses, community gathering spaces and neighborhoods into very public and visual displays of Sacramento’s support for "Pride over Prejudice."
