On “Thursday Night Football,” the teams are going to face off in an AFC East battle that may not be nearly as competitive as it has been in past years. Former NFL quarterback Trent Green took some time to speak with me regarding both teams, injuries, and their direction for the season.

Opponent Profile: San Diego Chargers Present Big Challenge For Toothless Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have a new head coach, for now, and they’ve just had their bye week. How will they fare against the 4-1 San Diego Chargers at home this week? Well, the Bolts are on a roll, and they look very good. The exact opposite can be said of Silver & Black, so don’t expect things to suddenly get better for Oakland now that Dennis Allen has been fired.

Raiders Defense Has To Be Better In Week 2 If Oakland Wants A Win

The Oakland Raiders gave up 402 yards in their opener against the New York Jets on the road, even though they gave up just 19 points. Some of that was due to the Jets QB struggling to hold on to the ball, of course, but the Silver & Black defense will need to be a lot tougher at home in Week Two for the Raiders to emerge victorious against an efficient Houston Texans offense.
