The Sacramento area is well equipped for southern-style music and dancing. This agricultural community has a slew of food establishments that carry on the beloved southern hospitality. There are bars that contribute to the dance environment of the country-western ideal where you can kick around your cowboy boots and practice some two-stepping. Many have sports along with contests and special event nights for those who want to join in and others have dance lessons for newcomers or other types of events for the more experienced. Check out each spot to see which one makes you yee-haw!

This restaurant caters more towards families or couples who wish to go out for southern-style dining. It does have a bar and some music, but you should check with The Porch’s schedule for exact details. The Porch requires reservations for most nights and the dinner menu becomes available starting at 5 p.m. Prices range from $20-$35 dollars for most meals. However, aside from the food, there are plenty of bourbon and whiskey options to make you feel like you’re ordering from an old-time cowboy saloon.

The Wrangler is a bar with music and eats. It has a regular schedule with Friday "country night” music and Saturday night “live karaoke." It's a sports bar as well, and is guaranteed to show those important southern events. On a karaoke night, come on in to see if your voice can get as low as Johnny Cash. If Dolly Parton is more your style, see if you can hit that high note like she can.
