SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – An 18-year-old man has been arrested for the Friday shooting death of a 49-year-old woman, police say.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers arrested 18-year-old David Alberto Romero at his apartment near 32nd and X Streets Saturday. Romero was booked at Sacramento County Jail on a charge of murder.

Police believe that Romero is responsible for the death of 49-year-old Thu Lan Tran, who was found shot to death at a private security company along the 5600 block of 28th Street Friday morning. Witnesses had called police after hearing a gunshot in the area and seeing that Tran was down. Officers who responded to the scene soon found that Tran had been fatally shot.

Investigators have not detailed what led up to the shooting or Romero’s suspected motives.
