Two Pallets Full Of Amazon Packages Found Abandoned In Sacramento Restaurant Parking Lot

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Two pallets full of Amazon packages were found abandoned in the parking lot of a Sacramento restaurant.

The packages were found Sunday morning by the manager of Brookfields Restaurant located at 4343 Madison Ave.

"(There were) 50 packages per pallet, about 100 packages," David Slambora, the restaurant manager, said.

Slambora said some of the packages were rifled through but most were in good condition.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office told CBS13 that deputies were called to the restaurant at approximately 7:45 a.m. Sunday morning

Surveillance footage from the restaurant captured what the manager said they believe is the truck that may have left the packages in the parking lot. The footage was given to deputies for further investigation.

The footage shows the truck driving in a different area than where the packages were dropped off. There is no footage of the area where the pallets were left.

"We're not sure who dropped them off, why they dropped them off, what happened, what time," Slambora said.

People who were shown the photos of the packages told CBS13 they hope the packages make it to their final destination.

"People didn't get what they wanted for Christmas or they were hoping that it would come, expecting it to come and it didn't," Krystle Day said.

Slambora said that he did contact Amazon about the situation. Maldonado said that he saw an Amazon truck loading the packages up earlier on Sunday.

The sheriff's office has not released any more information regarding the incident.
