Michael Lyon Back In Court On Drug Charges; Probation Revoked And Bail Denied

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Former real estate mogul Michael Lyon was in court Friday, facing a judge for his Wednesday arrest.

Lyon was booked on felony drug and eavesdropping charges. At Friday's arraignment, the judge revealed that Lyon violated his probation and was found with morphine, along with methamphetamine.

The judge then revoked Lyon's probation, remanding Lyon to jail until his next court date.

"It doesn't look good," Lyon's attorney Bill Portanova told CBS13. "It's a very sad thing. We don't know the facts yet, of course, but I've heard the reports from law enforcement.  I have no reason to doubt them."

Lyon was the head of Lyon Real Estate before he was arrested in 2010 on charges he secretly filmed sex acts in his home. He later pleaded guilty to four counts and was sentenced to a year in jail, but was let out early for good conduct.

A woman, Shannon Campbell, was arrested with Lyon in the latest incident. Campbell is also facing drug charges but also wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court on check fraud charges. She will also remain in custody.

"This is something very recent that has come to the floor, and we're still trying to figure out what happened and how it happened so fast," said Portanova.

Lyon is expected to return to court next Wednesday. In addition to drug charges, with probation now revoked, he faces two years in prison for his eavesdropping conviction.
