Sutter Brown Returns To The State Capitol

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – California's first dog is back at work, despite fighting aggressive cancer.

Gov. Jerry Brown's press office tweeted a picture of a smiling Sutter Brown Friday afternoon on the State Capitol steps.

Sutter has been fighting aggressive cancer in his intestines, lymph nodes and liver and was hospitalized for most of last week.

Vets weren't able to remove all the cancer, but the 13-year-old Welsh corgi has gotten well enough to go home and spend the rest of his life surrounded by his loved ones and doing (and eating) what he wants.

Sutter is a regular sight around the Capitol grounds and is a well-known political figure, with more than 10,000 followers on Twitter.
