High School: Naked Woman In Topless Photos Circulated By Students Not English Teacher

TURLOCK (CBS13) — Pitman High School administrators are trying to silence rumors of a topless photo of one of their teachers.

"It just came out of nowhere," said principal Rod Hollars.

School officials believe a Pitman High School student posted the picture of a woman, who is naked from the waist up, onto Twitter on Tuesday. Then, other students started commenting on the photo and sharing it saying it was of their English teacher. The photo then went beyond the school campus.

"We had comments coming from all over California," said Hollars.

Hollars said the photo isn't photoshopped. It's a real photo, but it is definitely not of the English teacher named in the posts.

"She's extremely upset," said Hollars of the teacher, who took the day off from school. "Very upset and rightfully so."

Hollars's staff is now spending time searching the internet to find the original student Twitter poster and taking students out of class, who commented or shared the photo, to interview them.

"We're calling in kid after kid after kid," said Hollars. "And follow lead after lead after lead. We probably called in a couple dozen kids."

Hollars is taking the opportunity to warn his staff that even the best teachers can become victims on the internet.

"I'm warning it could be anybody, at any time," said Hollars. "Nothing she did caused this other than being a staff member at Pitman High School."

The school has spent two whole days trying to clear the teacher's name.
